The Guild meets at 7:30pm on the first Thursday
of each month. If there is a conflict with a holiday, we then
meet the second Thursday of the month. Social hour starts
at 6:30. Any changes are announced well in advance in our
monthly newsletter. We meet at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church
at 4755 North Peachtree Road. For detailed meeting location
information, click "Find Us"
Each meeting begins by discussing general Guild
business and goings-on: community service projects, get togethers,
upcoming programs and workshops, and even shop news from our
member shop owners. We definitely have a sense of humor and
always delight in finding the latest knitting-related cartoon,
funny story in a magazine or silly anecdote on the Internet.
We then have a special program which consists
of a lecture or demonstration about knitting or some fiber
related topic while members sit quietly and knit. Besides
drawing on our own wealth of talent, the guild has been fortunate
over the years to be able to bring in well known authors,
designers and teachers. See the Workshop page for details..
Your membership gives you the use of our wonderful
library of knitting and knitting-related books. magazines,
patterns, and videos. As a member you can check them
out to use at home for your next knitting project.
The best part of every meeting is our "Show
and Tell," where members bring projects in various stages
of completion to show off, and to share problems and solutions.
Here, we know our skill can be applauded and appreciated whether
it be an elaborately designed sweater, a simple scarf, lace
shawl, or the beginning of one's first sock.
